Due to forecasted rain and heavy winds, the Arty Block Party and Farmers Market Kick Off events scheduled for May 4 have been postponed to Tuesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 11, respectively.

As Mayor of the City of North Charleston, I am excited to welcome you to the 35th Annual North Charleston Arts Fest. From humble beginnings as a half-day community celebration at Park Circle, the event has matured into one of the most comprehensive arts festivals in South Carolina.

Exciting changes are taking place this year with a modified schedule and revisions to key events that shifts the focus from quantity of offerings to quality of programming and patron experience. The Cultural Arts staff and their partners have worked hard to produce an event that uses performing, visual, media, and literary arts to expose, engage, and inspire residents and visitors from all walks of life.

The variety of festival offerings and the inclusiveness of the event have become a point of pride for the City of North Charleston. I encourage you, your friends, and family to take advantage of the many fantastic performances, exhibits, and activities happening May 3-7. There’s truly something for everyone.
