The 15th installment of this annual exhibition showcases original creations by African American fiber artists from across the nation. This year’s theme is From Chaos to Beloved Community: Envisioning Social. Artists are asked to create a fiber art piece that envisions a society free from the bondage of oppression—both physical and social. Visualize a future where better conditions exist for all generations of people through the use of technology, art, music, and literature. The challenge for this year’s exhibit is for artists to create art that shows what an inclusive future looks like.
Fine art will be exhibited in eight media categories: acrylic, oil, drawing, pastel, watercolor, printmaking, printed new media, and 2-D mixed media. Professional & amateur photography in the categories of color and monochrome will also be on display.
A variety of solo exhibitions by professional artists will be on display in various venues.
View works in a variety of subjects and media by budding artists in grades 1-12 from across the Tri-County area. Tri-County high school students will also have sculptures on display.
