Midtown Productions presents Broadway Bound, the endearing classic comedy by American playwright, screenwriter, and author Neil Simon. Called “a mesmerizing journey” by the New York Times, the semi-autobiographical play earned seven Tony Award nominations and was a 1987 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Set in 1949 in Brighton Beach, NY, Broadway Bound is the story of two brothers, Eugene and Stanley Jerome, who are determined to break into show business as professional comedy writers. When the brothers use the trials and tribulations of their dysfunctional family as inspiration for a radio comedy skit, the Jerome clan is upset to hear a thinly-veiled portrait of themselves played for laughs. The production is a hilarious, warm, and poignant tribute to family and the ties that bind. [Additional presentations on April 27, May 3-6, 10-12.]

The play is rated PG13.
